(KRON) – The San Jose Police Department announced the launch of its “San Jose’s Most Wanted” social media pages.
The Most Wanted pages are available on Instagram and Facebook. According to the department, the Facebook page aims to “generate new leads for the arrest and apprehension of outstanding wanted fugitives.”
This page will allow social media users the opportunity to see a fugitive’s picture and a description of their crime. A description of the fugitive’s crime is followed by SJPD’s phone number and the case number.
“Utilizing popular online platforms will give us the additional reach we need to apprehend these dangerous criminals,” said the SJPD Homicide Unit Commander, Lieutenant Barg. “These suspects have long evaded law enforcement and together we can put these fugitives behind bars.”
SJPD said many of the cases qualify for cash rewards. To submit crime tips, residents who prefer to be anonymous can call the San Jose tip line at (408) 947-STOP or report on www.siliconvalleycrimestoppers.org.
