(KRON) — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night in Antioch, the Antioch Police Department said. The collision happened around 10:33 p.m. on Lone Tree Way near Black Diamond Drive.
Officers arrived at the scene where they found the victim with life-threatening injuries. The victim, a 71-year-old man from Antioch, died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. It was determined that the man was walking through the crosswalk against the “don’t walk” signal when he got hit by the vehicle, according to police.
Druge and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factors in the collision. The victim’s identity is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
